Audition Requirements
Monologues
Choose one option:
•Acting Only: Two contrasting monologues, no longer than 90 seconds each
•Acting & Singing: One monologue no longer than 90 seconds
-Monologues should be from a published play or film
-Should contrast each other (e.g., one comedic and one dramatic)
Songs
•One song no longer than 32 bars (if choosing Acting & Singing option)
•Songs should be chosen from a Broadway musical
•Bring backing track on your phone
Program Highlights
•Annual Open House includes sitting in on real college classes, connecting with faculty and students, and attending departmental performances
•Up to 25 Theatre Merit Scholarships awarded annually based on auditions
•Freshmen can be cast in shows and have performed leads in Mainstage season
•Partners with 2-3 other schools for January showcase in New York City for casting directors and agents
•Department produces 5 shows per year plus numerous student productions
•Over 20 films, shows & performance opportunities annually
