Good to Know
Uses Musical Theatre Common Prescreen (MTCP) via GetAcceptd. Pre-screen required for on-campus AND major Unifieds (NYC, Chicago, LA). NO pre-screen needed for Moonifieds, CAP, or Pittsburgh Unifieds. Fall enrollment only.

AUDITION FEE: $65 (plus $65 university application fee)
Prescreen Requirements
Songs
PRESCREEN (MTCP Option B):
•One musical theatre song from any time period
•One contrasting song of your choice in any style (pop, hip-hop, folk, rock, rap, soul, country, punk, etc.)
•Each song 60-90 seconds
•Accompaniment required (live or pre-recorded)—no a cappella
LIVE AUDITION:
•Prepare same or different songs meeting above requirements
•Accompanist provided for on-campus auditions
Monologues
PRESCREEN (MTCP Option A):
•One monologue from a published play or by a professional writer
•60-90 seconds
•Age-appropriate character
•Active monologues recommended (real-time, direct communication with scene partner)
•Avoid pieces relying on extreme emotions
LIVE AUDITION:
•Same or different monologue meeting above requirements
Dance
PRESCREEN (MTCP Option A):
•60-90 second dance video showing your best dancing/moving
•Include at least one turn, one jump, one kick (or suitable alternatives)
•Any discipline: jazz, ballet, tap, modern, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, etc.
•Can use provided MTCP combo or self-choreographed solo
LIVE AUDITION:
•Dance call at all in-person auditions
Wildcard / Special Skill
OPTIONAL (60-90 seconds):
•Special skill, interesting story about yourself, passion speech
•Instrument you play, original composition
•SNL-style comedy skit, hobby demo
•Non-English performance, additional dance style
•"What do you want us to know about you?"
Additional Materials
•Headshot or 8x10 color photo
•Resume of experience
•Two letters of recommendation
•Personal statement/essay
•Transcripts
Video Specifications
•Each piece filmed/uploaded separately (no continuous videos)
•Introduction slate video (10 seconds max): state your name clearly

•Waist-up framing for songs and monologues
•Full body framing for dance
•Clear audio and good lighting
What Happens After Prescreen (If Invited)

•Partner organizations (Moonifieds, CAP, Pittsburgh Unifieds) do NOT require pre-screen
•Two-step process: Pre-screen then live audition by invitation
•Zoom auditions available
•Fall enrollment only (no spring applications for BFA)
•Students absent 2+ consecutive semesters must reapply and re-audition
